About Us
Dr. Gangwisch has been a resident of Panama City for 37 years. Locally attending both St. Johns Elementary and Panama City Christian High School, he graduated in 1976. Traveling northward to the Boston, Massachusetts area, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Holy Cross College and postgraduate degree in dentistry from Tufts School of Dental Medicine. He is currently a member of the ADA, ICOI, and the FDA. Dr. Gangwisch has been practicing for 20 years. A lifelong health and sports enthusiast, Dr. Gangwisch is commonly seen participating in triathlons, marathons (including the Boston Marathon), adventures races, doubles beach volleyball, and many other sports. "I believe in 'potentiating’. Whatever you do, do it to the best of your ability.” Dr. Grandy was born in Buffalo, NY and grew up in Kissimmee, FL. He received his BS in Biology and BS in Molecular and Microbiology from the University of Central Florida in Orlando. He then attended the University of Florida in Gainesville where he received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine. In his free time, Dr. Grandy enjoys music on a number of different levels. He can be found in the audience at many different types of concerts and loves to sing and play guitar. He has performed in many different bands and duos over the years and has had the opportunity to open for numerous national acts and play at many different venues, including the House of Blues. Dr. Melzer, native of the panhandle, comes from a medical background. His father, Dr. James F. Melzer, has been in private practice as a dentist for 25 years in Chattahoochee, FL. His mother, Connie Melzer, is an R.N. and certified X-ray technician, who manages the Chattahoochee practice. Dr. James F. Melzer, Jr., his brother, is a dentist in Marianna, FL & also works part time at our practice. Dr. Melzer did his undergraduate work in chemistry and biology first at Chipola Junior College, then at Florida State University. He then along with his brother Jamie followed their father's footsteps and obtained his Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the University of Florida in May 2003. Dr. Melzer and his brother James were the first two brothers to obtain a D.M.D. degree at the same time from the University of Florida. Dr. Melzer joined the Gangwisch practice in January 2004 and is looking forward to many years of service to the area. Dr. Melzer is a member of the A.D.A., F.D.A., Psi Omega dental fraternity, and the Bay County Dental Society. Dr. Melzer is an avid sportsman, college football fanatic, and avid golfer. He is a member of the First Baptist Church, Sneads, FL. Dr. Melzer was married to his college sweetheart, Holly on November 4, 2006. Holly is a recent graduate of the University of Florida, LEVIN School of Law and is currently employed as an Assistant State Attorney. |
